In 1997, pursuant to AHA’s prospective plan to forward its humanitarian services to Western Africa, AHA developed a project addressing the health care and related needs of returnees and IDPs in Kambia District.
Following a proposal to extend AHA’s arms to address the issues of health care and related needs of returnees and IDPs in Sierra Leone, AHA for the first time submitted its proposal to the potential funding partners. However, events in May 1997 forced AHA to abandon endeavours to finalise registration formalities and establish a Country Office in Freetown. AHA holds a registration in Sierra Leone.
