The number of Congolese fleeing ongoing clashes in the DRC has drastically increased in recent weeks. Many are finding their way in neighboring Rwanda and Uganda where AHA is collaborating with local and international partners to provide emergency assistance with food, shelter and healthcare provision. In Uganda, AHA is assessing how to better support local health centers that are strained with medical emergencies. AHA Rwanda is providing emergency drugs and has temporarily relocated medical staff from other duty stations to respond to the refugee influx.
Shelter, drinking water and essential non-food items are urgently needed in DRC, Rwanda and Uganda. Help us bring much needed relief to vulnerable people. If you would like to donate items or learn more about our relief efforts, contact us at relations@africahumanitarian.org.
AHA will continue to provide short term emergency services while working on long-term solutions.
